It occurs to me, at times, how few I honestly believe understand the depth and breadth of what has happened in this city. It is hard to imagine that there are still so many ignorant of what that ceremony will mean for this nation. It is difficult for me to swallow even standing here in the front row, watching the history books practically write themselves. Near enough to touch and yet so completely out of reach.

How can anyone elsewhere truly hope to know, yet?

Some deny it still. The winds of change are sweeping across these sands, and I do not doubt that some will stand stubbornly against it, unbending, unbreaking ... and buried for the effort. Others will embrace it. Wrap themselves in it until they themselves are just as lacking in substance as the source.

I wish I could be angrier. This sadness will not serve.

You should know that many in the city expect Melyndra to take her leave, soon. She's accomplished what she came for, and just between the two of us, be glad you were absent for the ceremony. Overwrought theatrics that would make any sensible director blush to her roots.

I'm told she'll be gone before February is out, for certain, and I agree it makes sense. I can't yet say where she'll take herself, but I'm sure that her daughter will be in tow, this time, and perhaps headed for Razen? Faella is still cautious with me, but I doubt that even she has any plans to disclose, just yet.
