That such a man could commit such an act of treason and under the Queen's own roof. Violating her trust, violating her hospitality, and indeed, violating her, it must be a matter of state indeed. Either you do not see your own jealousy for what it is or you simply do not care, and I am not quite sure which scenario is the most alarming.

What his sister will think of me if I do not approach her. But I am politician first, am I not? And helping the Queen is my task, but she will be more than hesistant to see it as help, and I must admit I am not inclined to work willingly with her.

If she does not change her mind and there is a trial, how much will that split the country. Allegiance to the Queen or to the late King? She is the Jewel, it is true, but treason is treason.
